These flapsjacks make a healthy snack due to the nutritional benefits of the oil, oats, nuts, seeds and fruits.
The secret to flapjacks is to make sure you have all your ingredients and utensils ready before you start cooking.
Preheat the oven to 180oC / 350oF / gas 4.
Grease and line a 9 inch square baking tray.
Measure out all your ingredients.
In a saucepan over a moderate heat melt the honey and syrup with the oil.
When the honey and syrup have melted add all the dry ingredients to the saucepan and thoroughly mix, making sure every bit of dry ingredient is coated with the honey/oil mixture.
Place the mixture into the lined tin and press down firmly ensuring the mixture is flat and even.
Cook in the preheated oven for around 20 minutes, the flapjacks will be ready when the edges turn a golden colour.
Do not remove the flapjacks from the tin at this stage, just cut the large flapjack into the size you require.
Leave the flapjacks to cool down for an hour or two, once cooled removed from the baking tin.
Enjoy as a mid morning snack...
