Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil

At ‘Summer Harvest’ we pride ourselves on producing our award winning Scottish ‘Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil’. Our ‘Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil’ is from a single variety of seed, which is grown on our family farm in Madderty, Perthshire where the family have farmed for over 100 years and where we have grown oilseed rape for close to 30 years. Oilseed rape responds extremely well to the Scottish climate due to long hours of daylight over the summer months. This is a vital time as it is when the oil is maturing in the seeds.

Summer Harvest Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil Our multi award winning Scottish 'Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil' has a fresh light taste, is extremely versatile and can be used in salad dressings, salsas and marinades. With its high burning / flash point of 240oC the oil can also be used for roasting, baking and in your stir-fries.

Dressings / Marinades

This year we have teamed up with the chefs at ‘Wilde Thyme’ to produce a range of dressings using our ‘cold pressed rapeseed oil’ and ‘Fruit Vinegars and Jellies’ from ‘Dalchonzie Fruit Farm’. The ethos of three companies is to celebrate the fantastic larder we have in Scotland and as far as we know these are the only dressings using predominately Scottish produce. They are all 100% natural with no preservative or additives. The dressing range consists of the following:

Apple & Walnut

Summer Harvest Apple & Walnut Dressing Marinade This classic taste combination of apples and walnuts is a must have with any pork dish.  It can be used as either a marinade or as a dressing for pork and is spectacular with salads particularly a blue cheese salad.

Wilde Thyme

Wilde Thyme set out to become the best event caterer in Scotland. To do this we have, from day one, put the client at the very forefront of what we do. We listen, understand the requirements and then design a complete experience.

The ethos of delivering excellence must be present in every aspect of the business, not only our food but in everything from staff standards and performance criteria to creation and implementation of health and safety policies

Dalchonzie Fruit Farm

Dalchonzie began growing fruit in 1989. Over many summers we have refined our techniques to produce fruit full of natural flavour and goodness, with minimal intervention.

We have always made preserves for the farm kitchen larder. So it was only natural to put a few jars on the table by the farm gate which naturally lead onto our farm shop.
