Our farm and beautiful bees

We love the bees at Ferneyfold Farm and they love the crops and environment we provide for them. The bees feed on the nectar in the oilseed-rape flowers, helping to pollinate the crop which adds around 10-15% to our yield.  This nectar is rich in sugars and produced a thick white honey. We also have fields in pasture where clover grows and the cattle roam.  The pasture acts as carbon-sink, the clover fixes nitrogen in the soil, the cattle fertilise the soil, a great example of bio-diversity.   The clover flowers after the oilseed-rape giving the bees a continuous supply of...

How we up cycled two lorries

    This is the first in a series of wee videos showing you behind the scenes at Summer Harvest and how we work to 'reduce, reuse and recycle', as farmers we have been part of the Circular Economy for as long as we can remember.
